Assignment Objectives - Through this paper you will have the opportunity:

• To take a more in-depth look at how specific minority groups have been impacted by social institutions.
• To appreciate both the unique and similar issues minority group members face.
• To appreciate the impact that macro forces have at the micro-level.
• To assure your ability in locating and reviewing scholarly literature in the field of Race and Ethnic studies.

Plan Out Your Time

• It may take a couple of research sessions to find what you want or need. Use small chunks of time in your day to look for possible sources and save them, even if you aren't sure if you will use them
• Set aside time to read the articles; think about how well you read online or if you want to print them out (free at Massasoit Libraries!) 
• Decide on your note taking strategy

• Library databases have ways to save your articles and citations: email, download, or send to your Google Drive. 
• The Writing Center is a great place to help you organize your thoughts as you draft your paper
