Computer Literacy: Welcome!

This guide supports Massasoit students with limited practical computer experience,

Fall 2024 Classes

Computer Literacy training series is complete for Fall '24.  Feel free to work through the exercises on your own to gain confidence in your computer skills.

Massasoit librarians and the Academic Resource Center welcome you to campus!

 

This Computer Literacy research guide provides introductory instruction & vocabulary about computer use. Gain confidence and skills with time to practice and ask questions.  The lessons' learning objectives include:
 

  • Hardware: Students learn the names and locations of hardware, or the physical parts of the computer
     
  • Software: Students learn to access software, or the programs and applications the computer uses to perform tasks
     
  • Internet: Students describe the five main parts of websites including navigation, links and content
     
  • MyMassasoit Portal: Students learn about the most critical functions for student success (email account, Canvas Modules, Navigate 360 for tutoring appointments, etc.)


At the bottom of each lesson, links to self-paced exercises for skill development are provided.
