It’s the start of a new school year, and we have some exciting news. Madge and Rachel are teaming up this year to provide your division with the information services you need and the library instruction your students require. It’s a two-fer!

Allow me to introduce Rachel and myself:

In her ninth year at Massasoit,  tenured librarian Rachel Zyirek’s academic career spans over 20 years with main disciplinary expertise in STEM, biotechnology, engineering and business.  Previous institutions of employ include Babson College, Wentworth Institute of Technology,  and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.  She holds double Masters degrees in Library Science and Educational Psychology.   Over the decades, Rachel presented at multiple national and local conventions focusing on library instruction & technological initiatives.  She attended the National Institute of Health’s week-long Librarian’s Guide to NCBI training in Bethesda, MD in 2013.  Additionally, she earned EMT-Basic certification in 2014,   a 120-hour TEFL certification in 2011 and even taught English to medical students while living in Dalian, China from 2011-2012.  In May 2019, Rachel received Massasoit’s Outstanding Achievement Award - Unit Professional. Madge Boldt was recently awarded tenure, and has been the Nursing and Allied Health liaison at Massasoit since 2016. She is a member of the North Atlantic Health Sciences Libraries (NAHSL) and the Academy of Health Information Professionals. Madge worked at Rhode Island Hospital prior to joining Massasoit, and enjoyed assisting medical professionals with their literature searches.
