CfJJ is the only independent, non-profit, statewide organization working exclusively to improve the juvenile justice system in Massachusetts. We advocate, build coalitions, conduct research, and educate the public on important juvenile justice issues

Our in-depth data analyses, coupled with extensive interviews of people on the front lines of criminal justice, inform recommendations designed for a particular state or county seeking to improve its justice system.

The Juvenile Court Department oversees civil and criminal matters statewide involving children including youthful offender, care and protection, and delinquency cases.

The American Youth Policy Forum (AYPF), a nonprofit, nonpartisan professional development organization, provides learning opportunities for policy leaders, practitioners and researchers working on youth and education issues at the national, state, and local levels.

The Burns Institute eliminates racial and ethnic disparity by building a community-centered response to youthful misbehavior that is equitable and restorative.

To better assist juvenile and family court judges and system professionals, the NCJFCJ has developed focus areas for its professional resources that include child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, family law, juvenile justice, mental health, model courts, research, substance abuse, technical assistance, and tribal resources.

The National Dropout Prevention Center (NDPC) has found that a concentrated, leadership-driven focus on overarching student outcome goals produces improved graduation rates of local school systems.

With its diverse membership of judges, private criminal defense attorneys, prosecutors, public defenders, academics, and other professionals, the Section is uniquely situated to bring all the various actors to the table to address today's most pressing criminal justice issues.

We work to help protect children from abuse and neglect, to create safe and rehabilitative justice systems for youth and adults, and to address the needs of older adults and adults with disabilities.
