In February of 2016 an attorney in Virginia used her position to promote empathy and literacy in her community. The prosecutor recommended that the five young men who vandalized an historic black school house be sentenced to some book reading, a Holocaust Museum visit in D.C., and a conversation with an individual who attended the black school house as a child.
