The Massasoit College Community and members of the Old Colony Library network can check out any books and DVDs in the circulating stacks of the library.
Books due: four weeks from checkout date
Library use only: reference books, magazines, and items on reserve.
Massasoit offers InterLibrary loan services for hard to find books and articles for research purposes.
The Massasoit Community College Library is committed to fulfilling requests from Massasoit staff, faculty and students for materials otherwise not available. The Library is equally committed to the cooperative exchange of library materials among institutions.
Feel free to print and bring to the Student Accounts office. The library also has forms available at the front desk.
Borrowing Reserve Items
What are "Reserves?"
"Reserves" are books or other materials that instructors have selected for students. These materials provide supplemental information and data. The library provides a place where all students in a given class can access the material.
Where are "Reserves" Located?
"Reserves" are kept behind the circulation desk at both libraries.
For how long are "Reserves" checked out?
Reserve items can be checked out for two hours at a times. Items may not leave the library.
Placing Holds on Items
Massasoit Library is a member of the Old Colony Library Network. Through OCLN, students, staff and faculty can:
Place holds on public library items and have them delivered to Massasoit, such as DVDs, bestsellers, and video games
Have access to the Overdrive ebook and eaudio catalog for access to even more books in whatever format works best
Create booklists and view checkout history to keep track of popular items.
After you search and find the item you want, click the "Place Hold" button to the right of the list.
If you are not already logged in when you try to place a hold, the system will prompt you to log in, using your library barcode and your pin. Your PIN is OCLN until you change it.
A window will appear for you to specify the library where you want to pick up the item when it arrives. Once you have selected the pickup library, click Place Hold. The system will tell you if the hold was successfully placed or not.
Once you have placed a hold on an item, you will be able to see it in "My Account" under the Holds tab.
You will receive a text, email, or phone notification when it is available for pick up. Choose your preferred method under "My Account".
