Library Mission

 Mission Statement

The Massasoit Community College Libraries reflect the mission of the College by providing resources, comprehensive services, and a learning environment which foster the pursuit of lifelong learning of the College and surrounding communities.

Goals:

  • To provide access to diverse resources that support the information needs of the College community
  • To promote the Library as an educational and cultural resource for the College community and the area it serves
  • To encourage student success by teaching the skills needed to facilitate lifelong learning
  • To increase faculty and staff collaboration, awareness and participation in library initiatives
  • To acquire, preserve and make accessible the historical materials of the College and its alumni

Massasoit Libraries Logo

The Massasoit Libraries logo is an essential backdrop to what we do and why we do it.

  • The logo represents the value expressed in our tag line: Where Ideas & Community Engage. We believe the library is a place to bring people together for connections, whether that is a personal, physical, or digital interaction.
  • Our logo is a unifying symbol representing library staff, services and events.
  • Our logo communicates our goal to provide excellent customer service and a safe and welcoming space for the community to engage with ideas and each other. 

Inspired by the Engage logo of the National Technical University of Athens, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Greece, the library staff received permission to create an adaptation that would represent the library’s commitment to community engagement. The interplay between the "i" images becomes a logo that is unique to Massasoit College Libraries and one that visually communicates the goals of our mission.
