Assessment Projects

Major Assessment Milestones at Massasoit Library 2017-2020

2014: The AAC&U VALUE rubrics were adopted on Massasoit’s campus in 2014 to measure student competency levels of Institutional Student Learning Outcomes.  Information literacy and written communication were formally adopted as two core competencies.

2017:  Library collaborated with Writing Center & Online Learning to Develop MLILMs (Massasoit Libraries Information Literacy Modules) to address customizable Canvas integration of library research skill tutorials.  Several faculty trainings and presentations resulted from this initiative.

2018:  Formal Assessment Project of Information Literacy  & Written Communication based on MLILMs     

  1. Scorers included:  Rita Jones-Hyde, Erin Harte, Erin McCoy, Rachel Zyirek, Kathryn Neary, Pauline Aiello, Maria Fernandes
  2. Collected over 100 student artifacts via student self-selection – all disciplines    
  3. Data & relational questions submitted to IR 5.      
  4. Several institutional, regional and national conference presentations resulted from data 

 

2019-2020: Second formal Assessment Project - Nursing PICO Paper Susan Clover of Nursing approached library to assess the Nursing 303 Seminar’s PICO capstone research paper.

Scorers included:  Rita Jones-Hyde, Barbara Ambos, Erin McCoy, Kay Neary, Rachel Zyirek, Pauline Aiello, Madge Boldt, Rebecca Gagne, Lou Johnson, Susan Clover (NURS), Juliann Corey (NURS) Data & relational questions submitted to IR.
