About Access My Library (AML)

This app can be used to read eBooks and articles from Gale.

You have access to over 200 eBooks from the Gale Virtual Reference Library, including Novels for Students, Short Stories for Students, and the American Decades Primary Sources.

You can also search the Gale databases, such as Academic OneFile, Opposing Viewpoints in Context, Literature Criticism Online and History in Context.

With this app you can:

  • Search and browse all Gale resources: magazines, journals and eBooks
  • Download articles and book chapters to read while offline
  • Translate articles to another language

Note:

To save an article, do not use the Save options in the Tools along the right. Instead, use the small download icon below the article. That will save it to the "My Articles" area in the app.

Download the AML app from Google Play or iTunes

Set up your library

AML will show you all of the libraries in the area.

If you are nearby, click on Academic and select Massasoit Community College from the list. If you do not see it in the list because you are far away, you can search using the magnifying glass symbol in the upper right corner.

When prompted for a password, enter the first five digits of your barcode

After submitting the password, your app should look something like this:

Search the Databases

Within the AML app, select the Databases icon at the bottom of the screen to see an alphabetic list of the available databases.

Choose a database such as U.S. History in Context and search for an article.

If you select one, you are brought to the Table of Contents and may start reading. Click the red X on the left to get out of the eBook.

Save a Chapter

Within a chapter, you may save it by clicking on the blue upload symbol at the bottom of the screen. You may save chapters, but you are not able to save an entire book. Do note choose the Save option on the right. That will only save the article to a temporary folder.
